Key Components of Plasma Welding Accessories

27 March,2025

The key components of plasma welding accessories mainly include welding power supply, plasma arc generator (welding torch), control system, gas supply and water supply system.
Welding power supply is the power source of plasma welding equipment. Generally, DC power supplies with vertical external characteristics or steep drop characteristics are generally adopted to prevent welding current from changing due to the changes in the arc length, ensuring the uniform and stable melting depth and the shape of the weld.
Plasma arc generator, that is, welded torch, is the core component in plasma welding. It is mainly composed of electrode, electrode chip, compressed nozzle, intermediate insulator, upper torch body, lower torch body and cooling sleeve. Among them, compressed nozzles and electrodes are the key, which directly affects the performance of plasma arcs and the stability of the welding technology. The parameters such as the aperture, the length of the hole, and the compression angle of the nozzle have an important impact on the compression effect and stability of the ionic arc.
The control system is responsible for controlling each part of the welding equipment to enter and exit the working state in accordance with the scheduled procedures. It includes high -frequency generator control circuits, wire -free motor drag circuits, welded cars or dedicated work control circuits, and program -controlled circuits. It can accurately set, track and adjust the welding technology.
The gas supply and water supply system provides the necessary plasma gas and protective gas, as well as cooling water for plasma welding. Plasma gas is used to form a plasma arc, protect the gas to prevent oxidation and pollution during the welding technology, and cooling water is used for cooling welding and electrodes to ensure the continuity and stability of the welding technology.
These key components work together, so that plasma welding technology has the characteristics of thermal energy concentration, strong welding arc, fast welding speed, high efficiency, and small deformation. It is widely used in many fields such as aerospace, automobile manufacturing, petrochemical, electronic components.
